Stone Age Neolithic Axehead. 6th-1st millennium B.C. A pecked, ground and part-polished basalt axe head with lentoid-section body and convex cutting edge, rounded butt. 455 grams, 17.2 cm (6 3/4 in.) Private collection, Rotterdam, 1970s; thence by descent. Dick Meijer Antiquities, Amsterdam, Holland. Property of a Sussex, UK, teacher. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity E-3140 from Dick Meijer Antiquiteiten. [No Reserve]
