Description

Stone Age Neolithic Tool Group. Neolithic, c.4th-2nd millennium B.C. A group of three flint tools comprising: an incomplete, re-worked and polished axe head in a mottled pale grey flint; a flint flake of mottled blue colour, cortex remaining, bulb of percussion and striking visible, parallel flake or blade scars to dorsal face; a dark brown flint flake with striking platform and bulb of percussion. The Portable Antiquities Scheme, record id.SF-4AACD8, for this mottled grey flint axe head; The Portable Antiquities Scheme, record id. SF-4211D2, for this mottled blue flint flake; The Portable Antiquities Scheme, record id.SF-4A34D1, for this dark brown flake. 90 grams total, 57-73 mm (2 1/4 - 3 in.) Found near Lavenham and Brettenham, Suffolk, UK, on 1 March - 1 November 2014. Property of a Suffolk, UK, collector.
