Mastodon Tusk Carving. Pliocene Period, 5.2-2.5 million years B.P. and later. A Mastodon sp. fossil tusk section, later carved with a stylised face to one side. 52 grams, 90 mm high (3 1/2 in.) From the Island of Java. Acquired 1950s-1960s. From an old Bristol, UK, paleontological collection. [No Reserve]
