Gandharan Roundel with Hippocamp and Rider. c.1st-3rd century A.D. A carved schist roundel or pallet displaying a mythical hippocamp and rider in high-relief, notched border, rounded base. 235 grams, 11.2 cm wide (4 3/8 in.) Acquired between 1980-1990. Property of a London gentleman.

Fine condition, rim chipped.
