Chinese Gilt Wooden Figure. 20th century A.D. A carved wooden votive figure modelled as a male deity, one arm held aloft, the other to his bare chest, wearing a headdress, fierce bulbous eyes, broad nose and full lips, one leg resting on the semi-circular base, the other on a small horned animal; remains of polychrome pigmentation and gilding; rectangular recess to reverse. 478 grams, 28 cm high (11 in.)
