Framed Persian Watercolour Erotic Manuscript Leaf Pair with Courtyard Scenes. 19th-early 20th century A.D. A matched pair of manuscript leaves each with a painted scene beneath a panel of Nasta'liq script; each scene depicts a nobleman reclining in a courtyard with three female companions; each in a glazed wooden frame. 900 grams total, 29.7 x 20 cm each (11 3/4 x 7 7/8 in.) Acquired on the UK art market, 1980s-1990s. The Woodbridge collection of Indo-Persian art. [2]
