A white stone figure modelled in the round as a monkey, with semi-naturalistic detailing to the head and face, pierced to receive poseable arms; mounted on a custom-made display stand. 45 grams total, 46 mm high (73 mm high including stand) (1 3/4 in. (2 7/8 in.)). Acquired from Boisgirard and Associes, Arts d'Orient Archéologie, Paris, 5 April 2000, lot 32. Property of a London gentleman. Possibly produced as a child's toy.
