Description
Roman Millefiori Glass Patella Cup. 1st century A.D. or later. A millefiori glass cup with double ogee bowl and basal ring, the black glass field with polychrome floral motifs. Cf. The Corning Museum of Glass, accession number 79.1.86 B, for similar. 69 grams, 98 mm diameter (3 3/4 in.) French collection, 1960s. Property of a Bristol businessman.
Fine condition, repaired.
