Elamite Goddess or Fertility Idol. 3rd-2nd millennium B.C. A ceramic fertility goddess idol modelled in the half round as a female figure with exaggerated hour-glass shape, hands clasping breasts, wearing headdress and neck ornamentation, stylised facial features, broad band of dense pellet detailing to the lower abdomen; with old label to verso '1032'. 110 grams, 17.5 cm high (6 7/8 in.) Acquired before the early 1970s. Ex London, UK, gallery. Property of a London gentleman.
