Description
Carnelian and Agate Bead Necklace. Mainly 1st millennium B.C. A restrung necklace composed of graduated carnelian and banded agate beads of mainly spherical, facetted and biconical types, with ribs and raised medial rib; interspersed with later spherical sheet-gold beads. 61.7 grams, 52 cm (20 1/2 in.) Acquired before 1983. Ex London gallery, 1990s.
