Description

Sassanian Seal with Advancing Quadruped. 3rd-7th century A.D. A plano-convex agate seal with domed upper face pierced for suspension, the underside with an image of an advancing quadruped, possibly a camel, surrounded by an inscription; accompanied by a custom-made display stand. 3.52 grams, 15 mm diameter (1/2 in.) Acquired 1970-1999. London collection of the late Mr S.M., thence by descent.
