Description

Ur III Cuneiform Tablet for King Shu-Suen. 22nd-21st century B.C. A pillow-shaped ceramic cuneiform tablet bearing eighteen lines of Sumerian text; the document is an account of barley, flour and goats used in rituals for 'the big crescent moon', issued for various other purposes in month VI, of year six of king Shu-Suen of Ur; accompanied by a translation. 30.4 grams, 43 mm (1 3/4 in.) Earlier 20th century collection of Professor Geoffrey Wilson, Warwickshire, UK. London Mayfair gallery, UK. Dr D.G. collection, 1990s-2019. Accompanied by an old typed catalogue slip and a translation page.
