Description

Large Roman 'Thames' Mason's Plumb Bob Weight. 1st-5th century A.D. A heavy conical mason's plumb bob with deep shoulder, short neck and squat, bulbous terminal with hole for suspension, circumferential grooves to body and shoulder; hollow, squared-off base. Cf. The British Museum, museum number 1975,0804.28, for similar. 302 grams, 88 mm (3 1/2 in.) Found Thames foreshore, Tower of London, UK, c.2012. [No Reserve]
