Description

Large Egyptian Hieroglyphic Shabti for Ipet-Hes. Late Dynastic Period, 664-332 B.C. A large blue-green composition ushabti figure, wearing the lappet tripartite wig, holding a narrow-bladed hoe and a pick, net slung over the left shoulder, hieroglyphs to lower body including a cartouche reading: ‘Illuminating the Osiris, Ipet-hes, born of Hat-hor-emneath, true of voice’; plain reverse. 111 grams, 14.9 cm (5 7/8 in.) Acquired on the European art market, 1930s. Private Cambridge, UK, collection, 1985. Private collection of a Yorkshire, UK, collector, 2020.
