Silver 'Continu Constant' Posy Ring. 16th-17th century A.D. A silver posy ring with D-section hoop, interior inscribed 'CONTINV[e?] CONStANt'. Cf. The Portable Antiquities Scheme, record id. IOW-1C6D62, for this inscription in similar lettering on a silver-gilt ring; cf. The British Museum, museum number AF.1223, for this inscription with spelling variation on a gold posy. 2.17 grams, 18.57 mm overall, 15.14 mm internal diameter (approximate size British J, USA 4 3/4, Europe 8.69, Japan 8) (3/4 in.) Acquired on the UK antiques market between 1974-1985. Albert Ward collection (part 3), Essex, UK. Accompanied by an old handwritten title card. [No Reserve]
