Achaemenid Empire. Ca. 420-375 BC. Gold Daric (8.34 g). Persian king in kneeling-running position r., wearing kidaris (crown) with four kandys (royal robe), holding spear with round rear terminal in r. hand and bow in left; quiver over shoulder. Reverse: Rectangular incuse punch. Carradice Type III B; Sunrise 28. Nicely centered on an unusually round flan for this oval-shaped type. NGC graded Choice AU; Strike: 5/5, Surface: 4/5. Value $2,500 - UP
