Order of Glory 1st Class. Type 1. Award # 2169.
23K GOLD. So-called “Type 1, Variation 2”, mentioned in Paul McDaniel article of Dec. 28, 2000 (please see https://web.archive.org/web/20010406061200/http://www.historicalresearch.com/Newsletr.html for full article). Later issue then all regular ones, with physical differences in obverse details, i.e. different number of berries on the wreaths, different shape of the kremlin star and area below the clock, etc. Only known to be observed in 212x – 228x serial number range. Rumored to be mostly unissued, with exception of some catch-up awards given posthumously much later after the war. Rare and intriguing.
