Description

George III, 1760-1820. Shilling, 1763, Dublin. NGC AU50. 6.00 g. 25 mm. Mintage: 3,000. KM# 597; S-3742. The 1763 shilling is known as the 'Northumberland shilling' as it was struck and distributed by the Hugh, Earl of Northumberland upon his appointment as Vicoroy of Ireland. About £150 worth was struck, equating to 3000 coins, making this a very sought-after coin. In a protective plastic holder and graded NGC AU50. Certification number 3928920-001
