Silver Cistophoric Tetradrachm, circa 133-67 BC.
Obv: serpent emerging from cista mystica; all within ivy wreath. Rev: two serpents entwined around bow and bowcase; ΣYNNA to left and EM above, owl standing on amphora to right.
Good Extremely Fine; a truly remarkable specimen, exceptionally rare, and showcasing outstanding quality for its type. lustrous metal, with faint flow lines radiating through the fields of the obverse.
Reference: Seemingly unpublished in the standard references; Kleiner-; Feydeau Bourse Numismatique-4 (25/6/2022), lot 21 (same type).
Rarity: Exceedingly Rare; just the 2nd known example to come to auction in the past two decades..
