Pseudo-Imperial issue, in the name of Justinian I. Obv: D N IVSTINIAN P P AVC, diademed bust right, set on chair(?); cross below. Rev: VICTORI AGVSTORVΛ, Victory advancing right, holding wreath and palm; CONOB in exergue.
Good Extremely Fine; a terrific example of a more vernacular pseudo-imperial style, lustrous and crisp, possibly the finest extant example, certainly finer than Goldberg Auction 75, lot 2657 which sold for 4,200 USD.
