Description

ANCIENT GREECE. SELEUKID KINGDOM. Seleukos IV 'Philopator'.
Silver tetradrachm, circa 187-175 BC. Antioch on the Orontes.
Obv: diademed head right. Rev: BAΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΣΕΛΕΥΚΟΥ, Apollo Delphios seated left on omphalos, testing arrow and resting hand on grounded bow; filleted palm branch and aphlaston in outer left field, monogram in exergue. Good Very Fine; cleaned surfaces.
