Description

MAGNA GRAECIA. SICILY, GELA.
Silver tetradrachm, circa 480-470 BC.
Obv: charioteer, holding kentron and reins, driving walking quadriga right; above, Nike flying right, crowning horses with wreath. Rev: forepart of man-headed bull right; CEΛAΣ around.
About Extremely Fine; small flan flaw and test cut on obv., otherwise a lovely example with blue iridescence around devices.
