Description

ANCIENT GREECE. CILICIA, TARSOS. Datames (Satrap of Cilicia & Cappadocia).
Silver stater, circa 384-361 BC.
Obv: female head facing slightly left, hair in ampyx, wearing necklace. Rev: bearded male head (Ares?) right, wearing crested Attic helmet; 'Datames' (in Aramaic) before. Good Very Fine; minor roughness to obv., light cabinet tone.
