ROMAN REPUBLIC & IMPERATORIAL. L. Procilius.
Silver serrate denarius, 80 BC. Rome.
Obv: head of Juno Sospita right, wearing goat-skin; S•C downwards behind. Rev: Juno Sospita in biga right, hurling spear and holding shield decorated with thunderbolt; serpent below horses, L•PROCILI•F in exergue.
About Extremely Fine; well-centred, underlying lustre.

Provenance: ex Nomos AG, obolos 9 (25/3/2018), lot 62; ex W. F. Stoecklin, Amriswil, Switzerland (old collector's ticket included), acquired from Münzen und Medaillen AG in Basel prior to 1975.
