Silver quinarius, 97 BC. Rome.
Obv: C•EGNATVLEI•C•F•, laureate head of Apollo right; Q (mark of value) below. Rev: Victory standing left, inscribing shield attached to trophy; Q (mark of value) below, ROMA in exergue.
About Good Very Fine; minor scratches to both sides, nicely toned and boasting attractive streaks of blue iridescence.

Provenance: ex Joel L. Malter & Co, Auction XXIX (22/3/1985), lot 388; prior to that loaned to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts until circa 1947; ex Frederick Hastings Rindge Collection (1857-1905).
