Description

ANCIENT GREECE. PERSIA, ACHAEMENID EMPIRE. temp. Darios II - Artaxerxes II.
Silver siglos, circa 420-375 BC. Sardes (or subsidiary mint).
Obv: Persian king or hero in kneeling-running stance right along beaded ground line, wearing kidaris and kandys, holding quiver over shoulder, dagger and strung bow. Rev: incuse punch.
About Extremely Fine; area of weakness on obv., otherwise an attractive, lustrous example clearly displaying beaded ground line.
