Unique and of high numismatic interest, this is the first time it has been offered at auction. It is not referenced in the standard catalogs. Assayer B/R on the left, value IIII vertically to the right of the shield. Mintmark not visible due to a flan crack. On the reverse, the date is nearly complete, with the base of the 6 visible and the last two digits very clear, with the 4 rotated. Decorative dots adorn the angles of the cross and the lobed design, a style seen in Madrid half-escudos from 1639 to 1642. Much of the legend is visible, with all "A"s lacking crossbars. The curved stroke on the obverse, next to the crack, indicates it is a rotated "D," common in this issue. Previously mounted in a frame, but with minimal wear or signs of use as jewelry. This is an extraordinary opportunity to acquire a unique piece, setting a milestone in the study of Madrid mint half-escudos, as this date was previously unknown. Única y de alto interés numismático, es la primera vez que se ofrece en subasta. No aparece reseñada en ninguno de los catálogos de referencia. Ensayador B/R a izquierda, valor IIII a derecha del escudo, en vertical. Marca de ceca no visible por la grieta de acuñación. En el reverso, fecha casi completa, siendo visible la base del 6 y los dos últimos dígitos clarísimos, con el 4 girado. Puntos decorando los ángulos de la cruz y del lobulado, diseño con estilo que aparece en las medias onzas de Madrid entre 1639 y 1642. Gran parte de las leyendas visibles, con todas las "A" sin travesaño. El trazo curvo en anverso, junto a la grieta, indica que se trata de una "D" girada, habitual en esta emisión. Estuvo en aro, pero sin apenas marcas de desgaste o signos en su superficie de haber sido utilizada como joya. Se trata de una magnífica oportunidad para adquirir un ejemplar único, que marca un antes y un después en las medias onzas de la ceca de Madrid porque se desconocía esta fecha.
