Description

PATALUNG: tin bia (8.47g), H-3.865, Pridmore-221, ju jin gong si or ju chen kung ssü written in barbarous Chinese // pata lung in Thai script and unclear Chinese inscription, but likely wang lang, with minuscule natural casting hole, lustrous example! AU. This type was first published by Adolph Weyl in 1891 and was likely cast for a number of years creating many varieties. According to W.W. Skeat in 1899, 400 bia = one dollar, as told to him by the Siamese Governor of Patalung.
