Description

NABHA: Hamir Singh, 1755-1783, AR ahmadi rupee (10.98g) (Nabha), ND, Cr-20.x. SS-251var, Durrani couplet of Ahmad Shah // rosette pellet symbol to left, cross-like symbol below jalus, struck with worn reverse die, some very light adhesions on reverse, VF, RR. This type was formerly described as the first issue of Jaswant Singh (1783-1840), but has now been reassigned to the first ruler of the State of Nabha, Hamir Singh. Same dies as Lot 1545 in our Auction 33.
