ABBASID: lead seal (7.51g), A-338Y, inscribed baraka / li'l-amir / ja'far; Ja'far is perhaps Ja'far b. Yahya al-Barmaki, who is cited on many coins of all metals during the caliphate of al-Rashid, only by his personal name Ja'far, VF, RR. The style of the Kufic script on this piece is correct for the time of the caliph al-Rashid.
