JAPAN: Taisho, 1912-1926, AE medal, year 14 (1925), 91x55mm, medal commemorating the Emperor Taisho's Silver (25th) Wedding Anniversary, two birds atop a tree, representing the emperor and empress // flowers at right, rising sun at lower left; medal produced in the shape of a fan, very simliar or identical to the fan that appears on the Taisho emperor's wedding commemorative medal struck in 1900 (see Zeno-193106), mint hallmark on edge at bottom of the fan ("Japan Mint Made"), a curiously shaped and lovely medal, encased in the original green box of issue from the mint, EF, RR. We can find no other examples of this medal offered at auction on CoinArchives.
