Description

INDONESIA: LOT of 31 coins, including Jambi lion series: 1 billon (obverse with lion walking right) and 5 copper units (all with well-centered strikes and decent patina); Jambi Sultanate: 8 tin pitis (5 octagonal), most with the inscription Sultan Anum Sri Ingalaga, all with attractive glossy patina, a couple lightly lustrous; Batubara: 4 tin pitis of Zain al-'Abidin Mu`azzam Shah (1 with legible full date of AH1158; and one with malik batu bahara reverse cf. Zeno-308513); Macassar/Gowa: Hasan al-Din silvered AE unit (possibly a contemporary imitation of the gold kupang cf. Zeno-16323; spot of corrosion); Aceh: 10 tin-lead pitis; plus a Trengganu 10 kepings AH1310 (F-VF), and a Ceylon Pallava pot-type copper with uncertain obverse (found in Sumatra); a very interesting group! retail value $500, lot of 31 pieces.
