TIMURID: Timur, 1370-1405, LOT of 52 silver miris, mint of Samarqand; including type A-2375, about 22 examples of type A-2381, all dated AH785, and about 30 examples of type A-2381, mostly dated either AH790 or 791 (9 examples have date off, presumably all of type A-2381), average F-VF, but many with some weakness or minor flaws; retail value $1000, lot of 52 pieces. The miri was also called dirham and the average weight of 1.55g corresponds to ¼ tanka of the time of Timur (about 6.15/6.20g).
