ILKHAN: Taghay Timur, 1336-1353, LOT of 90 silver dinars, type A-H2246, mint of Bazar, typically dated AH754 but most with blundered date, average weight about 3.56g; nearly all VF of better but either weakly or crudely struck, only a few nice examples; fine silver with total weight about 10.1 oz; retail value $1100, lot of 90 pieces. It is now believed that this type was actually struck at Astarabad circa AH754-757, before the mint started type A-2029 in the name of the Golden Horde ruler Jani Beg (but without "Beg"), probably coinciding with Jani Beg's invasion into Iran late in 757 and until his death in 758.
