TIMURID: Iskandar, 1410-1415, AR tanka (5.42g), Ardistân, ND, A-2398.2, royal legend within hexafoil, mint below, with phrase mâlik ruqab al-imam // Shi'ite kalima surrounded by the 4 Sunni rashidun, and the 12 Shi'ite Imams in the outer petals! with partially struck countermark of Shahrukh; first reported example for this mint, F-VF, RRR. Last couple letters of mint name off flan, and Ardabil is another possible reading, but unlikely, because Ardabil is north of the region controlled by Iskandar, whereas Ardistan is close to his principal city at Isfahan.
