Description
SELJUQ OF RUM: Sulayman II, 1196-1204, AR dirham (2.97g), Aksaray, AH596, A-1204, Izmirlier-76/77 (different dies), royal legend // nimbate horseman right, holding 3-forked scepter, slightly double-struck on the reverse, full strike without any weakness, VF, RRR. The engraver apparently forgot "sitt" for "6", with the "wa" immediately following "sanat", so he added sitt" above the "wa"! Only one dirham of Sulayman from the mint of Aksaray is reported on CoinArchives, sold in our Auction 25, Lot 473.
