Description
AFRICA: hippopotamus tooth (569g), Opitz p.157, front incisor ca. 32cm long and 45x40mm at the base, small chip near the base and no open cracks, used in trade for iron, tobacco and clothing in Timbuktu, Choice VF, ex Charles Opitz Collection. Unlike the curved canines, front incisors are much denser and heavier.
