UMAYYAD: 'Abd al-Malik, 685-705, AR dirham (2.81g), Dimashq (Damascus), AH79, A-126, lovely bold strike, EF. While the first Umayyad dirhams were struck in AH78, only about 10 pieces are known to exist. AH79 is the first date available to most collectors and are known from more than 30 mints.
