Description

TENASSERIM-PEGU: Anonymous, 17th-18th century, large tin coin, cast (41.04g), Robinson—, 67½mm, mythical hintha bird facing left, with tail rising above and holding a 3-leaf branch in its beak, 11 pellets below the beak & 14 pellets beneath the tail // stylized Burmese text, based on Robinson text B1, but with square Burmese letters, one additional symbol above and two below the reverse field, fantastic quality, both the casting quality and the preservation, choice EF-AU, RRR. There were 5 examples of this previously unpublished type in our Auctions 33-38.
