MUGHAL: Aurangzeb, 1658-1707, AR special rupee (11.44g), Patna, AH1070 year one (ahad), KM-297.6, Aurangzeb cited with the titles abu 'l-zafar muhyi al-din; struck on a broad flan, unlike the normal issues of this type struck at Patna, with the full border visible on both sides, VF, RRR. In our opinion, this example with broad flan, must have been struck for some sort of presentation purpose. All examples of this type and this mint filed on either Zeno or CoinArchives are the normal rupees struck on flans that are narrower than the dies.
