SASANIAN KINGDOM: Peroz, 457-484, lead 18mm (3.03g), BBA (the Court mint), G-—, SNS—, standard design, as on the 3rd silver series (G-174/176), extremely rare in lead, only two on Coin-Archives and none in the standard publications, Fine, RRR, ex Clive Foss Collection. Lead coins were most frequent during the reigns of Varhran IV through Varhran V (388-438), with limited editions under Yazdigerd II and the last confirmed lead coins under Peroz.
