Description

Tsukamoto, Toyojiro, The Old and New Coins of Japan (Nihon Kaheishi), Tokyo, Taisho year 14 (1925), 2 volume set, 286 pages, 295 plates, hardcover with slip cover for both volumes, enlarged and revised edition, published by the Tokyo Finance & Economic Society (Zaisei Keizai Gakukai), one volume mostly text and charts and the other with very good plates, one volume with broken spine but easily repaired, Japanese text, a very difficult to find book, ex. H. F. Bowker Numismatic Library. Howard Franklin Bowker (1889-1970) was a numismatist and philatelist, collecting and specializing in Chinese coins, stamps and banknotes. He created the first bibliography of Western language publications on East Asian numismatics.
