SAUDI ARABIA: Faisal bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, 1964-1975, AR medal (59.41g), AH1393, 51mm, honoring King 'Abd al-'Aziz b. Sa'ud (1876-1953), as founder of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia // phrase bism Allah al-rahman al-rahim repeated twice in ornate arrangement, once normally, once retrograde, marked as .925 fineness, in original case, light surface hairlines, Unc, S. Faisal successfully stabilized the kingdom's bureaucracy, and his reign had significant popularity among Saudi Arabians despite his reforms facing some controversy. In 1975, he was assassinated by his nephew Faisal bin Musaid.
