QARAKHANID: Husam al-Din Ulugh Toghan, fl. 1205-1206, AE husami dirham (8.48g), Marghinan, AH602, A-3424, reverse in a lovely quatrefoil pattern with Allah in the center, clear mint & date, some light adhesions by the rim, choice VF, RRR. Marghinan is located in the Ferghana region of Uzbekistan and is called Margilan today. Another example, without clear mint & date, sold in our Auction 20, Lot 605.
