Countermark in crude imitation of a Montserrat couped cross within shaped indent applied to the obverse of a 1778-S SF Spain bust 2 Reales (Pistareen) of Charles III. Characteristic die crack in arm of cross containing the "crescent". Countermark well applied, though slightly uneven. Light attractive golden-grey tone throughout with areas of slate. A wholesome and attractive survivor for superior to the Lyall example sold in September of 2018 which hammered down for an impressive £480 (approximately $632) plus the buyer fee. A neat piece sure to excite even the most advanced collector of West Indies. SOLD AS IS/NO RETURNS.
