Description

DIVUS MARCUS AURELIUS, Died A.D. 180. AE Sestertius, Rome Mint, Struck under Commodus, A.D. 180. NGC VF. Light Scratches.
RIC-662 (Commodus). Commemorative issue. Obverse: Bare head right; Reverse: Funeral pyre surmounted by Marcus Aurelius in facing quadriga. Well centered and struck, this is a rather pleasing example of a posthumous type for Marcus Aurelius struck to commemorate him by his son, Commodus.
Estimate: $125.00- $175.00
