26.95 gms. cf.Onza-1712 (for basic type); cf.KM-82.1 (for basic type). Contemporary counterfeit 8 Escudos cast in imitation of a 1829-RS Colombia 8 Escudos. The legends are Obverse: "REPUBLICA DE COLOMBIA .1829."; Reverse: "✿BOGOTA✿ 8.S✿R.S". The style and execution are quite crude, but in a adorable manner with lacking detail in the bust. A couple of areas of small test scratches are noted, on the cheek and on the reverse around the axe head, as well as an edge file on the reverse at 12 are noted for accuracy. Lightly toned and quite an interesting issue certain to catch the eye of the specialist.
