Description

CHILE. 8 Reales, 1810-So FJ. Santiago Mint. Ferdinand VII. NGC AU-55.
KM-75; FC-51b; EL-67; Cal-Type-164 # 625. Calbeto-1434 (for variety). Mintage: 126,000. Two-year type. Variety with laurel wreath close to forehead. An impressive survivor of this popular "Military Bust" type with vivid gleam in the fields and soft gold tone near the obverse peripheries that becomes deeper and more expansive on the reverse. Although this coins possesses "a lot to like", perhaps its most desirable quality is the amazing sharpness that appears in Ferdinand VII's wavy hair.
From the Santa Fe Collection.
Estimate: $1400.00- $1800.00
