Obverse: + IҺS XPS RЄX RЄGNANTIЧM, facing bust of Christ Pantokrator; Reverse: OҺSTAҺT CЄ ROMAN AЧςς I R, crowned facing busts of Constantine, wearing loros, and Romanus, wearing chlamys, holding between them a patriarchal cross. About as exquisite as can be achieved, this wondrous specimen has the appearance of a piece fresh from the mint, offering lustrous brilliance and a razor sharp strike. On par with the quality-- and in some areas, exceeding the quality --of the Kern example, similarly graded as an NGC MS*, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 5/5, which realized a hammer of $4,000 [!] in September 2017.
