An interesting study group of 20th century concoctions perfect for the academic collector looking to further understand this complex series. Some have been cleaned, holed and/or have other defects. Close personal inspection is advised and will reward the diligent bidder. All are accompanied with appropriate PCGS tickets. All are toned to one degree or another, the Pillar Dollar is quite attractive. 1) 8 Reales, ND (prior to 1914). 26.64 gms. Herrera-1256 (this piece). Crude Y.II. countermark applied to the obverse of a 1843-PTS LR Bolivia 8 Soles. Modern concoction probably produced sometime in the Late-19th Century, but could have been produced in the early years of the 20th Century. Lightly toned and quite interesting. Lightly cleaned. 2) 8 Reales, ND (prior to 1961). 26.98 gms. Asociacion Numimatica Espanola auction December 1961 Lot # 1476 (this piece).
